|NewsletterDesign automation firm Ansoft has unveiled version ten of its flagship simulator, HFSS, which is aimed at high frequency and high speed electromagnetic design.
HFSS is based around S-parameter and full-wave SPICE extraction. It is mainly used for designing on-chip embedded passives, PCB interconnects, antennas, RF/microwave components and high-frequency IC packages.
The latest version of the tool makes sharing models and results easier, said the firm. The tool can also co-simulate with other Ansoft products and has been extended to include RF/analogue IC co-design, EMI/EMC and microwave heating.
Ansoft's chairman and chief technology officer, Dr Zoltan Cendes, said the tool is "empowering co-design for a new class of engineer working in the areas of EMI/EMC, microwave heating, RF/analogue IC and multi-gigabit designs".
