National Instruments has extended its LabVIEW tools with signal processing and analysis software, including time-series analysis, time-frequency analysis and wavelets.

Version 7.5 of the LabVIEW Advanced Signal Processing Toolkit is palette-based and allow engineers to modify parameters and immediately see results, said the firm.

"LabVIEW users can take advantage of LabVIEW Express technology to tweak parameters and immediately see effects on their signals. Also, with new measurement-oriented functionality, they can rapidly apply advanced signal processing to their test and measurement projects," said Sam Shearman, the firm's signal processing senior product manager.

Digital filter design software is also included in the package, with FPGA and C code generation.

National Instruments is also aiming the tools at educational use.
